On June 24, Orenburg hosted the official opening ceremony of the Eurasia Global International Youth Forum, which brings together 300 participants from 53 countries, including representatives from 82 regions of Russia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov welcomed the participants of the International Youth Forum «Eurasia Global»: “The Forum contributes to strengthening humanitarian cooperation across the Eurasian space, promoting the Russian language and culture, and fostering an atmosphere of friendship and trust among nations. It is heartening to see that your meetings bring together young Russians, our compatriots, as well as representatives from countries of the Global South and East.
This year’s key theme — ‘Uniting to Shape a Multipolar World’ — is especially timely. It is clear that building a just and sustainable world order is impossible without embracing the diversity of our planet, aligning the potential of different civilizations, religions, and cultures, and advancing a dialogue grounded in mutual respect among their representatives.”
For six days, participants will discuss long-term international cooperation and intercultural dialogue, share best practices, co-create new projects aimed at building a multipolar world, and explore the technological potential, cultural heritage, and natural beauty of the Orenburg Region—an area that has warmly welcomed young people from around the globe for ten years.
“Eurasia Global was the first large-scale international youth forum launched in Russia as part of Rosmolodezh’s forum campaign. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the forum has become a landmark event, traditionally gathering guests not only from across Russia, but from all over the world. Among this year’s participants are young people from Serbia, India, Argentina, Venezuela, Tunisia, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, and many other countries. These kinds of events unite young people and enable them to realize their creative potential, fostering cooperation among nations, cultures, and identities around shared values of justice, equality, and a multipolar world,” said Grigory Gurov, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
The forum brought together curators, leaders, and participants of events held by the International Friendship Clubs of the World Youth Festival Directorate, as well as students, members of public organizations and associations, working and creative youth.
“Over the years, our platform has united more than 8,000 young leaders from over 100 countries! It’s a great source of pride for us—and every time, a great responsibility: to deliver not only a vibrant, large-scale event, but one that is genuinely useful for every participant. This year, following the President’s directive, the forum continues the mission of the World Youth Festival: strengthening cultural bridges between Russia and other countries. Our region has historically connected Europe and Asia, and today we once again affirm: the Orenburg Region is a place of dialogue,” said Acting Governor of the Orenburg Region Yevgeny Solntsev.
Together with experts, participants will work to build a system of international cooperation based on friendship and mutual respect.
“The Eurasia Global Forum has long ranked among Russia’s top international youth dialogue platforms. Just a year ago, right here in Orenburg, we were discussing the concept of the emerging International Friendship Clubs (IFCs) of the World Youth Festival Directorate—and today, they have become a powerful tool for cross-cultural communication among youth from different countries. As of now, 90 IFCs have been established across all Russian regions and in the federal territory of Sirius. Over 32,000 people from 140 countries have taken part in their events, and together with partners, the clubs have held more than 1,000 activities. One year later, IFC representatives from Russia and abroad have gathered again to connect in person, launch new joint initiatives, and strengthen our international ties,” said Vakhtang Khiklandze, Deputy Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate.
The forum’s program will be divided into two main areas: development of the International Friendship Clubs and strategies for improving the integration of foreigners in Russia. Participants will also enjoy a rich excursion program that will introduce them to the region’s unique landmarks and reveal its tourism potential.
“This is my first time taking part in Eurasia Global, although I’ve followed the forum for a long time and admired the opportunities it offers young people. Every year, it brings together participants from across the globe, creating a unique space to discuss the most pressing issues facing youth today and to develop joint solutions. Stories from friends who’ve attended in the past convinced me of the incredible value of such initiatives for personal and professional growth, as well as for shaping a new vision for the future of our planet.
Familiarizing myself with the forum’s agenda and reading participant testimonials gave me the final push to apply this year. Now I’m certain I’ll become part of a big family of young professionals who are working to change the world for the better and lay the foundations for sustainable global development,” shared Belgasem Imen, a participant from Tunisia.
