Ivan Kistanov said that new competencies allowed him to become the Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of the Samara Region Youth Government.
7 years ago was the First International Youth Forum "Eurasia Global". For nowadays, more than 3.5 thousand young people from different countries have passed through it, among them Ivan Kistanov, a regular participant in all seven forums. Today he heads the corps of ambassadors of the forum and shares his impressions about his first participation in an international event.
How did you find out about the forum?
- The forum was held for the first time in 2016, when I was a 3rd-year student at the Samara Polytechnic University and was strongly interested in youth politics. As for me, I was looking for new forms of interaction. I understood that it was important to get out of the usual channel and learn new forms of communication. And by chance, although all the accidents are planned, a response to my request came on the Internet. I saw an announcement about the forum and sent a request. And when the invitation came a few months later, I thought it was a joke, someone's prank. But I was so happy!
For what purpose did you go to the forum? What questions did you want to answer to yourself?
- In ordinary life, we are in a circle of people we have known for a long time, and this is good. But periodically, in search of meanings, it is important to get out of the comfort zone and communicate with strangers. At the forum, half of the participants are foreigners. And many people have a stereotype that foreigners think differently, want something different. The forum showed that foreign youth are very similar to us. They have the same priorities, the desire to create, expand the boundaries of communication and build relationships with people, not limited to geographical location. One of the main discoveries or answers that I made for myself in the forum is that Eurasia is a kind of prism through which you see your mistakes and virtues.
What practical results did you have after the forum?
- The most important thing is that I have made many like–minded friends in different parts of Russia and abroad. I realized that there are a lot of people like me who also think and live with the same ideas. I began to actively learn a foreign language and confidently express myself with my foreign colleagues. I created a corps of ambassadors of the International Youth Forum "Eurasia Global", where I broadcast the ideas on the forum. New competencies allowed me to become the Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of the Samara Region Youth Government. I still have a lot of ideas and "Eurasia Global" helps me find the strength.
The International Youth Forum "Eurasia Global" will be held in Orenburg from August 21 to 27, 2023. The participants will be young specialists and professionals from Russia and foreign countries who carry out their activities in the fields of research, international cooperation, media, public opinion leaders, young entrepreneurs, civil servants, leaders and members of organizations involved in the development of the movement of children, as well as winners of contests of the platform "Russia - the country of opportunities" and others.
During the week of the "Eurasia Global" forum, participants will visit educational and cultural programs, platforms for informal communication, exhibition areas of partners. Also, young people will present their projects, the best of which will receive grant support from Rosmolodezh for their implementation.
